  • What is Tele-Psychiatry?

    Tele-psychiatry or virtual psychiatry is the delivery of psychiatric care services over the internet through secure 2-way live video or telephone calls.

  • Why should I see an online psychiatrist?

    There are many benefits to seeing a psychiatrist online. Leaving home is not necessary because you meet your provider online. Avoid the long commute, traffic, parking costs, and time off work associated with an office visit. Virtual visits are more accessible with evening and weekend hours.



  • Where and how do Virtual Psychiatric Care providers see patients?

    Visits with online providers are conducted anywhere you have broad-band internet access and a computer, tablet or smartphone.

  • Do Virtual Psychiatric Care services offer "in-office" appointments?

    No. The Virtual Psychiatric Care platform is a 100% online tele-psychiatry service.

  • In which states are Virtual Psychiatric Care providers licensed to see patients?

    The Virtual Psychiatric Care platform provides services in most states. Please see a full list/map of the states we serve here.

  • What to expect during a virtual visit?

    A virtual visit is no different than an office visit, except it's more convenient since you are seen by a provider from any location. Your provider will assess your symptoms and will ask about your medical history. Your treatment plan can include diagnosis, counseling, appropriate referrals or prescribed medications if necessary. Prescriptions are sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. 


  • How long is a typical visit with a provider?

    For new patients, the initial visit is about 45 minutes. All follow-up visits for medication management are approximately 15 minutes. Follow-up medication management wiith talk therapy is 30 minutes. Counseling/Talk Therapy only sessions are 30 and 45 minutes

  • Is my virtual psychiatry visit private and secure?

    Absolutely. Virtual Psychiatric Care provides all visits via a private, secure, HIPAA-compliant 2-way video platform.

  • Can I contact my psychiatric provider if needed?

    Yes! Our platform allows convenient and secure messaging between you and your provider. Just download the free clinic app on any Apple or Android smartphone.

    Secure messaging may also take place through your online portal account.

  • Do you take Insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid?

    We are currently in-network with Medicare; Aetna; Optum, UBH, Oscar, Oxford plans; Cigna Evernorth, BCBS of IL, Highmark, and Premera BCBS in WA state. Click the "Book Now Insurance" button to get started. 

    **We do not participate in Medicaid associated plans.

    You may choose to use your out-of-network benefits. You will  have access to a  "superbill" receipt you can submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement. Call 786-761-1155 for more information.  

  • How much does a visit with a provider cost?

    The Initial Psychiatric Evaluation fee is $199 ($249 in NY) The visits are approximately 45 minutes. Follow-up medication management visits start at $79. Counseling/Talk Therapy Only sessions start at $79. If you are utilizing insurance, applicable copays may apply and charged at time of visit.     Our platform requires you to provide a valid credit card to schedule an appointment. You will see a bank hold of funds but no worries, your card will only be fully charged at the end of your visit. 

  • What is the cancellation/missed appointment/refund policy?

    Missed appointments ("No-Shows") or cancellations made less than 24 hours of  scheduled visit time will be charged  50 % of the visit fee.  Cancellation fee for patients utilizing their insurance is $75. There are absolutely no refunds for visits that have already started, regardless of the length of visit, the treatment plan set forth, or whether medications are prescribed, or for any other reason not listed, unless provider chooses not to proceed with the visit. In this case you will not be charged.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

    Click here to schedule a visit with a  provider. If you wish to use your insurance that is consider in-network, click the "Book Now Insured" button to get started. If using insurance you will "request" an appointment, complete online portal forms, and wait for appointment confirmation, Call 786-761-1155 for assistance.

  • Can I see a provider if I am traveling outside of the United States?

    Yes, you can see one of our providers while traveling as long as you are a resident of any of the states that we are licensed in.

  • Do you offer affordable telepsychiatry solutions to organizations such as hospitals, clinics, outpatient programs, and health insurance plans?

  • What medications can be prescribed by Virtual Psychiatric Care providers?

    Most  mental health medications can be prescribed as permitted by state and federal DEA regulations. 

    All prescriptions must be medically necessary based on specific diagnostic criteria in addition to  other clinical factors.

    We do not prescribe benzodiazepines as maintenance treatment. 

    In the following states controlled substances can not be prescribed: Nevada, Illinois, and Rhode Island.


  • Are there services or treatments that providers do not offer?

    1. Providers do not offer emergency mental health treatment. If you are experiencing active suicidal thoughts, please call 911 or visit your nearest hospital.


    Contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and dial 988. 


    2. Providers do not offer consultations for long term disability or workers compensation.


    3. We do not prescribe benzodiazepine class drugs for long term maintenance anxiety treatment. 


    4. We do not provide pain management treatment with the use of controlled drugs and narcotics.
